Contents
Fe 60 mg (equiv to dried Fe sulfate 182.58 mg), folic acid 400 mcg
Indications/Uses
General treatment of Fe & folic acid deficiency in non-pregnant patients. Prevention & treatment of Fe deficiency anaemia & to supply a maintenance dose of folic acid during pregnancy.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Special Precautions
Do not give to patients w/ anaemia unless Fe deficiency is also present. Patients w/ Fe-storage/absorption diseases eg, haemochromatosis, haemoglobinopathies, or existing GI diseases (eg, inflammatory bowel disease). Not to be used together w/ parenteral Fe therapy.
Adverse Reactions
Slight GI intolerance including constipation or mild diarrhea, nausea, vomiting & abdominal pain. Blackening of faeces.
Drug Interactions
May impair absorption w/ compd containing Ca & Mg, including antacids & mineral supplements, & bicarbonates, carbonates, oxalates, or phosphates. Diminished absorption of tetracyclines.
